Travel coast to coast across Costa Rica, from the Caribbean to the Pacific, while supporting hands-on conservation efforts. Depending on your program length (14 or 21 days), you’ll live in two or three coastal communities and contribute to projects focused on climate action, wildlife protection, and environmental stewardship. From sea turtle conservation on the Caribbean coast to sustainability work in the Nicoya Peninsula—and, on the 21-day program, the biodiversity-rich Osa Peninsula—you’ll explore Costa Rica’s most vital ecosystems while experiencing its iconic adventures and natural beauty.

On GLA’s Costa Rica: Marine Conservation & Sea Turtle Expedition program you will:

  • Explore the Caribbean and Pacific coasts and enjoy ample beach time
  • Support a sustainable sea turtle hatchery
  • Go boating through bioluminescence
  • Zipline through the forest on an adventure excursion
  • Live in multiple beach communities and work with organizations protecting sea turtle populations
  • Hike around the spectacular Irazú Volcano National Park and explore what’s known as Costa Rica’s magical forest
  • Discover the Osa Peninsula, famous for its stunning biodiversity (21-day program only)
