Reconnect with the GLA community on an unforgettable alumni-exclusive adventure in Guatemala! From the cobblestone streets of Antigua to the clear waters of Lake Atitlán, you’ll immerse yourself in the heart of this remarkable country, discovering its rich culture, inspiring traditions and breathtaking landscapes all while traveling alongside fellow alumni who share your passion for global leadership.
Together, you’ll explore vibrant villages, learn age-old techniques from local artisans and participate in a traditional Mayan ceremony that offers insight into Guatemala’s spiritual heritage. Spend your days hiking to hidden viewpoints, tasting authentic cuisine and uncovering the stories that make this destination so unique. Evenings will bring time for reflection, community and celebration of the GLA spirit, creating space to honor the journeys that brought us here and the connections that continue to unite us.
This is more than a program—it’s a reunion. A chance to relive the magic of your GLA experience, create new memories in an extraordinary setting and strengthen the bonds that connect us as a global family of leaders.

Sample Itinerary
Let’s take a sneak peek at what your program experience might look like this summer! Please note that the order of activities may differ for each program session. The details provided here represent a general outline of what you can anticipate, though community service projects and activities are subject to change based on the needs of our local community partners, cultural celebrations and traditions, weather conditions and the specific requirements of the student group.
Day 1: Welcome to Antigua!
Arrive in Guatemala City and head straight to your beautiful hotel in the colonial gem of Antigua. Settle in, connect with fellow alumni and kick off your journey with a welcome dinner and alumni appreciation celebration.
Day 2: Lake Atitlán Adventure
After breakfast in Antigua, travel to the stunning Lake Atitlán, surrounded by volcanoes and vibrant villages. Explore a lakeside town, visit a textile cooperative to learn about traditional weaving, and share stories with your alumni community over dinner and memories.
Day 3: Antigua Exploration & Mayan Traditions
Return to Antigua to wander cobblestone streets, dive into the city’s culture and indulge in a hands-on artisan chocolate experience. In the evening, take part in a traditional Mayan ceremony, discover your nahual and close the night with a farewell dinner and alumni appreciation circle.
Day 4: Departures
Say “hasta pronto” to Guatemala and your GLA alumni friends—leaving with new memories, deeper connections and the spirit of GLA carried forward.
