Program Overview
On this program, you will travel to some of Europe’s most influential cities in Italy, France, and the United Kingdom. Discover how each city along our route has contributed to Europe’s cultural identity and influenced the course of the world throughout history. Explore themes and events such as WWII, the Renaissance, and colonialism. Integrate these topics into each site visit, activity and cultural exchange. Forge relationships with locals through a community service project and throughout your travels. As you explore European icons, you’ll also discover your leadership style and objectives.

Community Service
While this program spans multiple countries and emphasizes travel, learning and immersion, at the heart of every GLA program is meaningful community service. In this program, you will lend a hand to a community or organization in need. This could involve an environmental project, helping at a pantry or food kitchen, or partnering with a local group to support a community initiative. We will select a service project that aligns with the community’s needs as the program session approaches.
Hands-on Learning
In each city you visit, the opportunities to explore are endless. Get engrossed in the stories of medieval history as you tour the Tower of London. Discover why Paris is called the City of Light as you explore the streets along the River Seine. Uncover how the legacy of ancient Rome still influences modern society. Examine the impacts of tourism on large metropolitan cities and their citizens.
Adventure
Travel the European continent by high-speed trains, moving from one mesmerizing city to the next. Take a leisurely cruise on the River Seine, the perfect way to see iconic Parisian sights like the Eiffel Tower. Learn to make authentic Italian pizza in a workshop where the dish was born.
Lodging
Students will have various Home Bases throughout the program due to its travel-focused nature, including youth hostels or hotel blocks. Youth hostels offer dorm-style accommodations with AC, en-suite bathrooms and common areas. All hotels are 3-star, featuring en-suite bathrooms, AC and rooms with 2-6 beds.
