“GLA is a perfect opportunity to go out of your personal space bubble and really explore the world for what it truly is. The connections we made and the places we saw are lifelong memories that will never leave us. Everyone who attended is leaving a different person than who they were when they arrived.”
The Program Experience
Language Immersion
Take your French to the next level with engaging classes taught by local instructors and a wealth of opportunities for real-world language practice. Language learning extends beyond the classroom as you put your skills to use throughout Paris – ordering at cafés and boulangeries, exploring markets, navigating shops and engaging with French speakers.
By integrating language learning into cultural activities and everyday experiences, you’ll build practical communication skills while developing a deeper understanding of French culture. Whether you arrive with foundational French or more advanced skills, you’ll be encouraged to challenge yourself, communicate authentically and return home with greater confidence using French in the real world.
Exploratory Travel
Discover Paris through immersive experiences that bring its history, culture and contemporary life to center stage. With Paris as your home base, explore famous landmarks alongside the neighborhoods, markets, cafés and cultural spaces that reveal what everyday life in the French capital is really like.
Rather than simply sightseeing, you’ll engage with the places you visit through hands-on activities, local interactions and opportunities to observe and participate in French culture. Along the way, you’ll build independence, cultural awareness and confidence navigating a global city while gaining a deeper appreciation for France and the people who call it home.
Adventure
Immerse yourself in high-energy urban exploration, outdoor excursions and interactive cultural challenges throughout Paris and its surrounding historic estates. Student travelers ascend the Eiffel Tower for panoramic city views, cycle through the expansive grounds of the Palace of Versailles and take to the water on a evening Seine River cruise. Test your language skills and creativity in real time through interactive scavenger hunts across Le Marais and Montmartre, a hands-on French pastry-making lab, a urban street-art workshop and a team market challenge where you interact directly with local vendors.
