Reconnect with the GLA community on an unforgettable alumni-exclusive adventure in the Dominican Republic! From the sun-drenched tropical coastlines to the lush canopy of the jungle, you’ll immerse yourself in the heart of this vibrant island, discovering its natural wonders and rhythmic culture—all while traveling alongside fellow alumni who share your passion for global leadership.
Together, we’ll explore the island’s most breathtaking landscapes, snorkeling through vibrant Caribbean ecosystems and swimming in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Laguna Dudú cenotes. Spend your days trekking beneath towering palms, exploring dramatic seaside cliffs and relaxing on pristine, hidden beaches that define island paradise.
Evenings will bring time for reflection and celebration of the GLA spirit, creating space to honor the journeys that brought us here and the connections that continue to unite us.

Sample Itinerary
Let’s take a sneak peek at what your program experience might look like this summer! Please note that the order of activities may differ for each program session. The details provided here represent a general outline of what you can anticipate, though community service projects and activities are subject to change based on the needs of our local community partners, cultural celebrations and traditions, weather conditions and the specific requirements of the student group.
DAY 1: WELCOME TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!
Welcome to the DR! GLA staff will meet you at the airport and take you to the Home Base. Settle in, connect with fellow alumni and kick off your journey with a welcome dinner and alumni appreciation celebration.
Day 2: COMMUNITY VISIT & SNORKELING
Visit a local community where GLA programs are making a lasting impact. Meet community leaders, hear their stories firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of the partnership between residents and your alumni network. Later, unwind with a snorkeling adventure in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters.
Day 3: LAGUNA DUDU & PLAYA PRECIOSA
Today we will relax and recharge at Dudu Lagoon, a breathtaking cenote with crystal-clear blue water and underwater caves. Spend time swimming, lounging by the lagoon, or playing volleyball with fellow students and locals. Later, visit Playa Preciosa, a secluded beach with white sand and turquoise water. Close the day with a farewell dinner and alumni appreciation circle.
Day 4: Departures
Say “hasta pronto” to the Dominican Republic and your GLA alumni friends—leaving with new memories, deeper connections and the spirit of GLA carried forward.
